Soviet DIY knitting leaflets, set 2, each include more than 11 knitting patterns of sweaters, vests, dresses. It was impossible to buy a Chanel suit, so instead Soviet women referred to the knitting patterns in the do-it-yourself columns of socialist women’s magazines and leaflets. You couldn’t find a soft tweed, but crochet produced a similar look, if not feel.
